MILWAUKEE COUNTY MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
If you have already missed mortgage payments due to COVID-19 and you live within Milwaukee County, you may be eligible to receive financial support in the form of a grant for past-due payments. The purpose of the Milwaukee County Mortgage Assistance Program is to aid in foreclosure prevention by providing emergency assistance to homeowners who are delinquent in their mortgage payments due to job loss or reduced work hours and wages as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Housing Resources, Inc. is accepting applications for Milwaukee County Mortgage Assistance through December 18, 2020. Depending on eligibility and date of income interruption, direct one-time assistance on behalf of the homeowner(s) may be provided for up to six (6) months. Missed mortgage payments starting March 1, 2020 will be reviewed to the date of application. Additional payments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Foreclosure mediation helps homeowners facing foreclosure work with their mortgage companies through the assistance of a mediator. The mediator is a professional who understands mortgage companies’ loan modification review process and who is trained to improve communication between the parties. Mediate Milwaukee staff can help you explore options to allow that may allow you to keep your home, or plan a respectable exit strategy.

PROPERTY TAX INFORMATION
The City of Milwaukee Combined Property Tax Bill is sent to all City of Milwaukee residents in December of each year. Failure to pay your bill in full OR make your first installment payment by January 31, 2021 will result in your account becoming delinquent. Read on for information on how to enroll in the City’s property tax payment plan and changes to how you can pay your bill.
10-MONTH INTEREST FREE PAYMENT PLAN
If you are unable to pay the entire balance of your Property Tax Bill, the City of Milwaukee Treasurer’s office offers a 10-month, interest free payment plan. To qualify, your real estate tax bill must be more than $100 and you must make your first installment payment by January 31. Subsequent installments are due on or before the last day of the month from February through October. Taxpayers are strongly encouraged to enroll in the City Treasurer’s Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) for the Property Tax Installment Payment Plan to assure monthly installments due are made in the correct amount and on time.
